Introducing Brixx financial forecasting software

Brixx is an app that creates 1-5 year financial forecasts. It has a flexible approach that does not rely on external accounting software, making it ideally suited for planning startups, rapid growth, pivots and big changes in a business, as well as preparing regular forecasts.

You can build a Brixx plan in the way you think about your business, focussing on business activities rather than accounts. This, together with its flexibility and detail make it a perfect tool for analysis and scenario testing.

Our customers commonly use Brixx for:

  • Planning a new startup
  • Creating detailed financial statements to take to investors
  • Planning important business decisions
  • Completing monthly/quarterly/annual planning cycle

Get started in 5 steps

1. Create a plan with the business plan template

When you create a plan, start with the business plan template (an option ticked by default in plan creation). This template starts you off with a fully structured plan covering every part of a business. You can navigate this template by clicking on the sections down the left hand side. Each section covers an area of your business and already includes products, costs, assets and funding sources.

2. Add something new to the template

The template is a starting point that can be fully customised. You can copy, reorder, delete or rename anything in the template. You are likely going to want to at least adjust the Sales section, either by adding more income components to represent your products or removing some if you want to plan in less detail. Click the 'Add components' button to bring up a panel of components you can add. Find out more about components here.

3. Entering your forecasts

Click on any component row to open the data for that particular activity. This opens the forecast entry options for that particular component. Each component is colour coded and calculates in different ways depending on what it is. By default, most components let you enter a repeating number monthly. If you want to add varying numbers each month click the 'Table' button below this control.

4. Changing when an activity starts on the timeline

By default, all activities start at the start of the plan. If something starts months or even years into the plan you can change this on the timeline. Learn more about the timeline here.

5. Changing the structure of the template to suit your business

When you get to grips with Brixx you may find you want to structure your plan differently in a way that is more useful to your business. You could make a plan that is ordered by region, entity or any category you like. Find out more here.
